Peace of Mind – Oma Sense

I don’t know about the rest of you, but as a mom, I feel like I am constantly worrying about my kids.  I know I shouldn’t worry as much as I do, and I know there is so much we don’t control in life – but I think it’s just second nature as a parent.  I have been especially aware of this with Nora being born eight weeks early, at 32 weeks gestation (you can read her birth story here if you’re interested in more about that journey).

Favourite Things for Baby

Favourite Things for Baby
This post contains sponsored content from DockATot and Oribel.

Four babies in and I have to admit, I continue to be amazed by the clever and useful products that are available to make life easier for mamas and their babes.  I remember when I was pregnant with Isla, I wanted to buy ALL THE THINGS immediately, without having a clue what I would actually find the most useful.

Then, with our second baby, Ben, we lived in an apartment in China so there was a lot we chose to do without – not because we couldn’t find it, but because we just realized there was a lot we didn’t need, and space was limited.

As a result, I feel like I’ve been at both ends of the spectrum when it comes to products that I really and truly think are essential, and definitely make life easier for babies and their parents. Keep reading for a review of a few of my favourite baby items!

DockATot

Ok, so first off, I am absolutely in love with both of our DockATots!  We have both the DockATot Deluxe – which is perfect for infants and small babies, and the DockATot Grande – which is perfect for our toddler.

The reason I am such a fan of the DockATot is because it is comfortable, easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to transport, providing my kiddos with a comfortable spot to rest and lounge either in our home or when we travel.  I love knowing that my littlest loves are safe and secure when they are resting in their DockATots.

I also really like the interchangeable covers that you can get for the DockATots, which make them so easy to clean (especially when Nora spits up or has a blow-out), and they come in so many fun prints and patterns as well!

If you find yourself looking for a bassinet substitute for in your living room, or when you travel (especially camping!), I definitely recommend the DockATot!

Oribel Highchair

Anyone who knows me personally knows that I am NOT a fan of highchairs.  I never have been, and in fact, I never even owned one for my first three kiddos as babies; I’ve always found them to be large, clunky, unattractive, and hard to clean.

However, amazingly, I have finally found a highchair that I absolutely love – the Oribel Cocoon.  This highchair is sleek and modern in its design, so it blends perfectly in with the rest of my home decor.  It is a fabric-free highchair, make it super easy to clean, but is still comfortable to sit in, with a five point strap system to keep your little one safe and secure.  The Oribel Cocoon is also foldable, and easy to tuck away when we don’t need it, although to be honest, the range of colours available make it easy to customize decor-wise to your unique space.

The other thing that I love about the Oribel Cocoon is that it actually grows with your child from infancy, right up to toddlerhood.  The Cocoon can be laid flat and used as a bassinet for Nora, or adjusted to be used with a retractable meal-tray, or even as a booster seat that can be pushed right up to the table.  This highchair actually allows all of my kiddos to participate in our family mealtime, and I’m so glad we finally took the plunge into the world of highchairs with the Oribel Cocoon.

Mebie Baby Swaddles

I know swaddling isn’t for everyone, but I have always found that my babies sleep so much better at night when they are bundled up. Finding the perfect swaddle is key, however.  So often the ones that are really pretty, don’t actually do the best job of swaddling, and the ones that work the best aren’t always as pretty as I’d like.  So, you can imagine my excitement when Mebie Baby sent me several of their popular jersey swaddles in a range of gorgeous fall colours.

I LOVE these swaddles!  They are soft, stretchy, and very large, so it’s super easy to comfortably and securely swaddle your baby.  I also love the range of colours and patterns they come in, along with matching hats, headbands, and even little onesies.  If you are still searching for the perfect Christmas gift for a new or expectant mama – definitely put Mebie Baby on your list!

A few other favourites…

I have already written about a few of these items, but I just had to include them here as well.  For Nora, we really love our Fawn Design Diaper Bag – the optional backpack straps are perfect for when we have all four kids out and about.  We also really love our cozy organic sleepers from Love’d Baby, and they come in so many different colours and patterns.

Another great swaddle option is the Ollie Swaddle from The OllieWorld, which actually has velcro tabs for extra security if your baby is a real wiggle-worm.  And last but not least, although I haven’t tried it out yet, I’m so excited to try out our BinxyBaby Shopping Cart Hammock when Nora gets a bit older!  I have seen so many people using this, and it really does look to solve that age-old problem of how to fill your cart when you also need a place to put your baby.

So there you have it!  Four babies later and I’m still finding fun new products that make my life easier as a mama, and that are great for the comfort, security, and enjoyment of my little ones as well.

Thanks so much for reading!  I would love to hear what baby items you just can’t live without!  Share them with me in the comments below so I can check them out!
